Le projet WASH'Em vise à améliorer la promotion du lavage des mains pendant les crises humanitaires en explorant les déterminants comportementaux en lien avec l'hygiène dans ces contextes (phase 1) et a pour objectif de développer un logiciel permettant la prise de décision pour faciliter la conception rapide à partir de l'expérience des programmes humanitaires (phase 2). Pour répondre aux objectifs exploratoires, les premières études de terrain ont été effectuées en Irak et en République Démocratique du Congo (RDC). Ce rapport décrit le travail effectué en RDC et comprend un état des lieux des activités, la présentation des objectifs et des méthodes de recherche utilisés ainsi que certains résultats principaux. La recherche a été effectuée en RDC entre le 1er octobre et le 17 novembre 2017.

Overview

The WASH’Em aims to improve handwashing promotion in humanitarian crises by exploring the determinants of hygiene behaviour in these contexts (Phase 1) and developing a software-based decision-making tool to aid in the design of rapid but evidence based programs (Phase 2). To fulfil the first of these objectives exploratory field work was carried out in Iraq and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This report describes the work done in the DRC including an overview of activities, the research objectives and methods used and some of the key findings. The research in DRC was conducted between the 1st of October and the 17th of November 2017.
